Ingredients Strawberry Macadamia Crostata
- Ice water (3 – 6 tablespoons or more)
- Unsalted and cubed creamery butter (1 cup)
- Salt (½ teaspoon)
- Hulled and sliced strawberries (1 lb, 1/4-inch thick)
- All-purpose flour (2 cups)
- Chopped macadamia nuts (3 tablespoons) (about 20)
- Granulated sugar (¼ cup)
Method Strawberry Macadamia Crostata
Put the macadamia nuts, strawberries, and sugar in a food processor bowl that has a blade attachment fitting. Turn nuts to become finely ground but do not process to paste. Put the pulse, salt, and flour, then mix well.
Put pulse and butter to turn the mixture into a coarse meal. Add 3 tablespoons of ice water and allow moist clumps to form after processing. If the mix is dry, one tablespoon of water until the mixture is well moist.
Put all the dough into a large bowl and put them together by kneading a few times. Turn the dough to the shape of a disk, and using plastic wrap, cover the dough. Allow to cool for about one hour or more and serve.
