Steamed Pork Dumplings Recipe

Steamed Pork Dumplings. The easiest way to use wonton wrappers (which you will find at Asian supermarkets) is to fill with something tasty and steam them. Learn how to make these easy to make pork dumplings. 

STEAMED PORK DUMPLINGS

Serves 5

300g pork mince

  • ½ cup fresh chives, chopped
  • 100g raw prawns, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 100g water chestnuts, chopped small
  • 1Tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 20 wonton wrappers 

Dipping Sauce

  • ¼cup soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp chilli, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  1. In a bowl place mince, chives, prawns, water chestnuts, soy and ginger. Mix until well combined.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place a tablespoon of mixture in the middle, brush the edges with a little water then gather up and pinch together. Repeat with rest of filling.
  3. Cut around a sheet of baking paper to fit your steamer. Place the buns on top, ensuring they don’t stick together.
  4. Cover and steam for 10 minutes or until the wrappers are translucent.
  5. Serve immediately with dipping sauce.

Ingredients 

  • One tablespoon of soy sauce 
  • One tablespoon of freshly grated ginger 
  • Half cup of chopped fresh chives 
  • Hundred grams of chopped raw prawns 
  • Twenty wonton papers 
  • Hundred grams of water chestnut 

Ingredients for the Dipping Sauce 

  • One teaspoon of sesame oil 
  • One-quarter cup of soy sauce 
  • One tablespoon of chopped chili 

Procedure Steamed Pork Dumplings

Step 1 

Using a bowl, put in your chives, water chestnut, soy, ginger, and prawns. Ensure you mix them well until they combine. 

Step 2 

Take a wonton paper and place a tablespoon of the mixture in the middle. Brush the edges with a bit of water, then gather the mixture up and pinch them close together. Repeat this step with the rest of the filling. 

Step 3 

Cut around a sheet of baking paper. Make sure the parts you cut off can fit your steamer. Then place the buns on top. Don’t allow the buns to stick together. 

Step 4

Cover and allow to steam for ten minutes. 

Step 5

Ensure you serve them with dipping sauce. Enjoy these steamed pork dumplings.
