Classic Pecan Pie. It’s Thanksgiving! A perfect time to eat pecan pie. In fact, many folks are likely to debate that there is no imperfect time to taste some classic Pecan Pie. Ingredients Classic Pecan Pie
- Chilled pie crust
- 1 cup or 240ml of dark corn syrup
- 108g or 3/4 cup of dark brown sugar
- Vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon
- melted 1/4 cup or 56g) of butter
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 200g or two cups of pecan halves
Procedure Classic Pecan Pie
- In a 9-inch pie pan, place the pie crust, and crimp the edges.
- While getting the remaining ingredients ready, place the crust in the refrigerator. The oven should be preheated at 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a big bowl, combine the salt, vanilla, butter, dark corn syrup, and dark brown sugar.
- Evenly distribute the pecans at the bottom of the crust.
- The pecans will float to the top as you pour the mixture of corn syrup over them.
- After 10 minutes, lower the oven’s heat to 350°F and continue baking the pie.
- After another 10 minutes of baking, cover the crust with aluminum foil or a pie crust shield to prevent it from browning too much.
- Continue baking the pie for 20 minutes.
- Remove the pie from the oven when the edges are set and the center is set but jiggly, and then let it cool on a wire rack for about an hour.
- Then, place the pie in the refrigerator and let it chill for 4-5 hours, or until it is firm.
- Pie can be made a day or two ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
