High levels of antioxidants, such as vitamin C, zeaxanthin, and carotenoids, can fight cancer cells. These antioxidants slow tumor growth, reduce inflammation and help flush out harmful substances from the body. A recent research report in the journal Drug Design has stated goji berries can boost the effectiveness of cancer treatments.
Immune system boosting
The plentiful vitamins in goji berries may be able to increase and support a strong immune system. A recent study found them to enhance the effectiveness of flu vaccinations in mice. The lab test suggests the berries may prevent subsequent infections for people who’ve received a flu vaccine.
They’re good for your skin
Goji berries are rich in beta carotene, which is a vitamin A precursor that helps promote healthy skin. In fact, many cosmetics available in the market contain beta carotene. That’s because this component is incredibly beneficial in improving skin health. Beta carotene has been proven to reduce skin irritation, provide protection from the sun rays, and slow the impact of aging.

If you’re on a weight loss diet, Goji berries are a great addition to your diet. They are low in calories, and rich in nutrients. But not only that, they are also helpful in increasing metabolism and reducing cravings, which can certainly contribute to weight management.

Gojis are a good source of vitamin A, which has been linked to night vision. There is evidence that other substances contained in the berries help protect eye membranes and reduce the chance of a series of eye diseases.

Goji berries are highly recommended for people with diabetes. Due to their high levels of polysaccharides, they have been found effective in reducing blood glucose levels. Another study linked goji berries to increased HDL levels in people with type 2 diabetes. HDL is known as good cholesterol.

Goji berries can literally make you happy! They’re full of 18 amino acids and are high in B vitamins, both of which help to improve cognitive thinking and mental focus. They also reduce anxiety and ward off depression. A 2016 study found drinking goji berry juice could improve energy, mood, and digestive health.
